RAISKOTO PRASKALO

From the Paradise rocks in the Central Stara planina descends the highest waterfall in Bulgaria – Raiskoto praskalo. It is located under the Bulgarian natural reserves – Djendema. Among the inaccessible precipices, rock ridges, and marvelous nature is located this Bulgarian beloved beauty.
Raiskoto praskalo waterfall is the highest waterfall not only in Bulgaria, but also on the whole Balkan Peninsula. Its height is 124,5 m. It collects its water from the “eternal” snow-drift located on the very peak of Botev, to the South of the peak, to jump down the Raiskite Skali rocks – not far away from the Rai hut. It gives the beginning of a small tributary of Byala River, the watershed of which is a part of the Dzhendema reserve and covers the southern slopes of the peaks of Botev, Malak Yumruk, Mlechniya Chal and Zhultets. Byala River flows through the high-mountain pastures and the Dzhendema reserve – the kingdom of the inaccessible precipices, rock teeth and ribs, of floral and faunal diversity. It takes as left tributaries Dzhendemski Dol and the gullies of Golyama and Malka Bazovitsa rivers. Raiskoto Praskalo is also called Kalofersko Praskalo (chute).
The magnificent view captures the tourists. And no matter that a lot of people have visited it, the waterfall and the place, itself, have preserved their untouched and clean aspect

KADEMLIISKOTO PRASKALO

The waterfall of Kademliiskoto praskalо is one of the marvelous creations of nature that takes your breath away. Wild and boisterous the crystal water falls from height of 72 meters and running down into the bed of Tuja River it calms down and peacefully takes it way to the valley of Tundja River.
The waterfall is situated in the massif of Triglav in Central Stara planina mountain, in the picturesque place of Smesite.

VIDIMA WATERFALL

The Vidimsko Praskalo is located in the eastern section of the huge rock cliff of the Northern Dzhendem – an impressive, almost vertical rock face reaching 400 - 500 m height at certain places. There in the kingdom of crags and cliffs, breathtaking gorges and vertiginous precipices, where austere and unapproachable walls rise up on all sides, and reach out towards the dome of the Balkan Mountains, nature has created the phenomenon Vidima waterfall. Its water, wild and boisterous falls from 80 meters height and makes one stand in awe at the sight of this incredible spectacle.
This chute collects its waters from three small creeks taking their sources from the peak of Yurushka Gramada and the Pileshki Polog saddle, flowing along an alpine meadow and flying down in an eighty-meter water arch into the precipice. The Vidimsko Praskalo is the second highest waterfall in Bulgaria. A nice vista to it opens from the especially established vista site, after the development of a specialized education trail along the valley of Praskalska River, after the crossroad of the trail from Apriltsi town to Pleven hut at Vidima water power station

BABSKOTO PRASKALO

There are a lot of rivers in the National Park of Central Balkan, which fall and form picturesque waterfalls called by the local people “praskala” (“springers”). One of them is the “Babskoto praskalo” waterfall. It is not so high like the others in the National Park, but it is just as beautiful as the others are. The “Babskoto praskalo” waterfall is 54 meters high.
The Babsko Praskalo is close to the Rusalka hut, along the trail from Tazha village to Tazha hut. It is located on the tributary of Tazha River – Babska River the water of which springs out the South of the saddle between the peaks of Malak and Golyam Kademlya of the Triglav massif.
